Chassagne Montrachet "La Romanée" PREMIER CRU
White
Located in the Southern part of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet is one of the 5 villages belonging to the prestigious « Côte des Blancs ».
East and South-East oriented, the soil of the Premiers Crus from Chassagne is mainly made of clay and chalk.
« La Romanée » is located in the southern part of the village, next to Les Grandes Ruchottes and not far from « Morgeot», in the higher part of the vineyards on a clayish soil.
The fermentation takes place in wooden barrels, after which they are aged in barrels as well for 12-15 months before being bottled.
The Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru « La Romanée » has a nice pale gold colour. Its nose is rich with aromas of fruit flesh, hazelnuts and almonds.
It is fullbodied, well-balanced, but never « heavy », it is impressively long lasting in the mouth with these aromas of fresh fruits.
It will perfectly match poultry, fish, shells and cheese such as Comté.
Preservation
This wine will age for 10-15 years in good conditions of temperature and humidity.
