Côte de Nuits-Village APPELLATION VILLAGE
Red
The Côte de Nuits is the northern of the two districts of the Côte d'Or; stretching from Marsannay to Corgoloin.
As a general rule, the wines of the Côte de Nuits, due to the high content of chalky clay in the soils, are somewhat fuller, earthier, more complex and more tannic wines than those of the Côte de Beaune, but there are exceptions to this rule, particularly in the case of Grand and Premier Cru wines.
Louis Jadot Côte de Nuits Villages is blended from wines selected from small growers in Fixin, Brochon, Prémeaux-Prissey, Comblanchien, Corgoloin.
Our Côte de Nuits is vinified in tanks for 3-4 weeks and it is then aged in oak barrels for 10 months before bottling.
The Louis Jadot Côte de Nuits Villages is firm, full-fruited and medium bodied, with ripe, black and red berry flavours and a classically earthy and aromatic Pinot Noir bouquet. Its excellent balance of ripe tannins and elegant yet concentrated fruit result in silky, youthfully approachable wine which ages quite gracefully over the medium term.
It is perfect with roasted red and white meat, or marinades and traditional cheeses if the wine is more tannic.
Preservation
This wine will age 3-5 years in good conditions of temperature and humidity.
