The Premier Cru Champeaux is located at the north of the village of Gevrey on a rather steep slope next to Cazetiers and Combe aux Moines.
Grapes are destemmed and then fermented before aging in oak barrels for 18 months.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy
The colour of this Premier Cru is always intense and there are often chocolate aromas in this wine as well as blackberries. Tannins are not too agressive.
This wine can be accompanied with venison but also beef of even simply meat terrines.
Like all the Premiers Crus from Gevrey-Chambertin this wine can age very well more than 15 years if the conditions of storage offer a constant temperature.
