The Mâcon Azé appellation comes from the Mâcon Villages area : 500 hectares of surface in this village from the south of Azé until Davayé, in the southern part of Burgundy, close to the Beaujolais area and more specifically between Lugny and Igé.
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The limestone subsoil of the Monts du Mâconnais is ideal for growing the Chardonnay grapes.
It is vinified in stainless steel tanks in order to extract the maximum floral and fruity aromas and freshness.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy
Dry and easy to drink, lively and charming, the wine shows nice reflects, sometimes slightly green reflects. It's a straight wine with a touch of acidity and a nice minerality. The aromas remind of dried grass.
This is a fruity wine with a floral scent and a hint of lemon, the Mâcon Villages should be drunk chilled and rather young.
This wine goes very well with a large range of foods including "hors d'oeuvres", fried or grilled fish, sea food, goat's milk cheese, poultry.
The Macon Azé will be at its best within 5 years, if kept in good conditions of temperature and humidity.
