Monthelie est un petit village de la Côte de Beaune niché entre Volnay, Meursault et Auxey-Duresses. Il compte 11 premiers crus.
Caractéristiques
Le sol à Monthelie est argileux avec de la silice.
Vinification
Les vins sont fermentés en cuves pendant environ 3 semaines et ensuite élevés en fûts de chêne pendant 10-12 mois.
Dégustation / Accords mets-vin
Les Monthelie sont fruités avec des arômes de cerise. Ce vin peut être à la fois puissant et délicat. Il sera le compagnon idéal des viandes rouges grillées, des charcuteries mais aussi des fromages pas trop forts.
Conservation
Idéalement, il doit être bu jeune mais se conserve parfaitement 7, 8 ans voire plus, comme la plupart des Bourgogne, si les conditions de garde et d'humidité sont respectées.

Wine making
The alcoholic fermentation take place in vats for an average of 3 weeks and the wine is then aged in oak barrels for 10-12 months.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy
Maison Louis Jadot Monthelie is a very fruity wine developing red fruits and cherries aromas. It is a well structured wine with good tannins. It is quite a powerful wine still very delicate.
It will be a perfect partner for red meats (roasted, grilled or in sauce) as well as cheeses.
Preservation
It will be very nice drunk young and can be kept 5-7 years in very good conditions of temperature and humidity.
