Situation

Morey Saint Denis est situé entre Gevrey Chambertin au nord et Chambolle Musigny au Sud, au coeur de la Côte de Nuits. Le vignoble se situe à une altitude entre 250 and 360 mètres, il jouxte le village de Morey.

Caractéristiques

Cette appellation compte 5 grands crus et 17 premiers crus. Les Faconnières se trouve sous les grands crus Clos Saint Denis et Clos de la Roche sur un sol argilo-calcaire.

Vinification

La fermentation des raisins dure environ 3 semaines puis le visn élevé en fûts de chêne de Bourgogne pendant environ 15 à 18 mois.

Dégustation / Accords mets-vin

Ce premier cru gagne à être vieilli quelques années avant dêtre pleinement apprécié. Il se marie très bien avec des viandes rouges et la plupart des fromages.

Conservation

Ce vin se conservera facilement 10-12 ans si les conditions de garde sont respectées.

Vineyards situation

Morey Saint Denis is situated between Gevrey Chambertin to the North and Chambolle Musigny to the South, in the centre of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard, at an altitude between 250 and 360 metres, is bordering the village of Morey.

Characteristics

There are 5 Grands Crus and 17 Premiers Crus on this small commune. "Les Faconnières" is situated underneath Clos Saint Denis and Clos de la Roche Grands Crus, on a soil which is clayey and chalky with clay divided into sheets.

Wine making

This Premier Cru is vinified in open tanks during 3-4 weeks, in order to obtain an ideal expression of the soil. Then it is aged in oak barrel during 15-18 months.

Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy

The Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Faconnières is quite strong but becomes more sweet and delicate after several years of ageing. It will be perfect with reds meats and a lot of cheeses.

Preservation

This wine will be able to age easily between 10 to 12 years following the vintage and conditions of keeping.
