Rully APPELLATION VILLAGE
Red
Vineyards situation
The Côte Chalonnaise is a continuation of the Côte de Beaune, to the south of Santenay. There are five appellations in the Côte Chalonnaise : Rully, Bouzeron, Mercurey, Givry et Montagny.
Characteristics
Rully is the northernmost appellation, between Mercurey and Bouzeron. Pinot Noir is the only grape variety used for the reds.
Wine making
The wine is vinified in vats like all our Côte d'Or white wines and then aged in barrels for 10 to 12 months before bottling.
Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy
The style of the red from this area is characterised by fairly raspberry scented wines. This is however not the case with the wines from Jadot. They have a much broader style with good concentration of Pinot Noir which is made in such a way that is well structured with rich tannins.
It will be an excellent partner for roasted meats, grilled meat or meat served with a wine sauce, small game and cheeses wich are not too strong.
Preservation
Very pleasant when young this wine will also be able to be kept between 5 to 7 years in very good conditions of temperature and humidity.
